At Northern Kings, the environment is at the core of our decisions. In fact, this is the fundamental reason why we started our company.
We can't continue like this anymore.
The clothing industry is responsible for 10% of global greenhouse emissions. Furthermore, “fast fashion”, the business of replicating high-fashion designs and mass-producing them at low cost, often in inhuman conditions, has filled thousands of wastelands over the years. We have to act now to change the way clothes are produced.
What can we do to change the situation?
1. Focus on quality
By choosing premium materials, our clothes last longer than the other brands, which prevents them from ending in a wasteland after a few washes.
2. Reuse as much as possible
At Northern Kings, we are proud to conceive clothes that are made of recycled plastic bottles and other recycled materials. By doing so, less is wasted and products get a second life.
3. Reduce packaging
When shipping our products to our customers, we use as little packaging as possible and what packaging we do use is made from recycled materials.
4. Produce locally
By manufacturing our clothes locally in Quebec, we minimize the pollution caused by transportation. Moreover, it ensures that our products are made in a human environment.
